16 year-old Gregg needs a foster family, preferably on the North Shore.† Plummer Foster Care, an arm of Plummer Home, provides training and ongoing support for anyone interested in becoming a foster parent.† Hereís what Gregg has to tell you:

Who am I?
I am a 16 year old who enjoys listening to music and drawing. People say I have a great sense of humor and that I make them laugh.† I love music because it gives me a sense of being understood and accepted. People think that Iím a horrible emotional kid, but once you get to know me you find out that I am really a kind loving person. I have not had the chance to have consistent caregivers while growing up and I have a lot of reasons to be who I am.† Regardless, Iím eager to have parents that will teach me to love myself, cultivate self-confidence and most importantly parents who will stand by me and support me at all times. I am loving and kind and want people to take the time to know me and not judge me by my appearance. I believe that the world would be a better place if people would accept someone for who they are.

Iím learning to trust adults and be open; I have come a long way and people at my program would tell you that. I am trying but I need parents who will hold my hand to walk the tough journey of life with me. To end, I would say that if I were to be placed on a ďWall of FameĒ, it would be for computer software design.

What I Need from a Family
I believe that I would benefit from parents who are patient because I understand that it takes me time to trust adults given my past.† Thus, I would need people that will tolerate me, get to know who I am so I can start to build a trusting relationship and healthy attachment. I have been looking for a stable family all my life. A family will help me and support me as I go through my teenage years and enter adulthood. I want a family where I will not stand out as Iím continuously struggling with my own identity.

I would love to have a family in the North Shore community because this community has become home to me. I want to be able to keep my friends as well. I love animals so a family with pets will be awesome. My most important concern is that the adults in my life truly commit to me, accept me the way I am, and do not give up on me at the first mistake. Iím a kid and I will probably be wrong a lot time before I get it right. So, I hope there is a family out there ready to take a leap of faith with me and give me a chance of a family life.
